This is a very old freeware list that is being kept here for "historical" purposes. Some people still refer to it once in a while, and there is no effort involved in keeping it up. It's unlikely that this will ever be actively updated.

RARE		NameIt - an advanced file renaming system designed specifically for MP3 file renaming. It is extremely useful, however, in any kind of heavy batch renaming jobs. If you really value your time, this free little tool is a must-have.

RARE		CDWav - this is a small wave editor that can save you money if you are only looking for basic wave cutting and editing. A tool that does such things for free is hard to come by.

RARE		SnadBoy's Revelation 1.1 - Ever get into a stupid situation where you forget a password while it is in front of you, hidden behind the ***** stars? Reinstall Windows, and away the forgotten passwords go! This tool sees through the asterisks, allowing you to recover passwords that you've accidentally forgotten and save them for future use. New version has to be installed and it also tries to connect to the Internet (NOT good). This old version is small, clean, and requires no messy installation. That will be five dollars, thank you. In case you don't get the joke - it is FREE.

RARE		Graph Paper Printer - this very nice free utility is an all-in-one paper factory on your desktop. Polar paper, log paper, ruled paper, music sheet paper, your own custom paper, and lots more - this unbelievably useful program can do all that. You will never go to the office supplies store again

RARE		dumpTRUCK - "Software that lets you submit up to 25 URLs with the touch of button to the internet's top search engines". Really, it is one of the best. The good thing about it is that this submission software lets you construct submission URLs yourself, so you do not have to rely on programmer's update efforts (this is abandonware). Also it gives you full report with response pages for each single URL. NOTE: to edit the URLs, click 'edit' under 'Search Engine Schedule' tab.

VISIT		Tsunami MPEG Encoder - TMPEG offers MPEG compression quality of which leaves other commercial encoders in the dirt. It has many useful features that can not be found in any pay-for products! You can join MPEG files, crop, de-interlace, remove ghost images and picture noise, enhance edges, multiplex and de-multiplex. There is also ability to batch files, use external audio encoders (like LAME), use plug-ins and encode in CBR/VBR. NOTE: new versions of this software have expiring MPEG-2 feature, which is well worth paying for instead of hundreds of dollars you'd pay for other barely working encoders. MPEG encoding for VCD's is fully functional.

VISIT		KeePass Password Manager - a free/open-source password manager or safe which helps you to manage your passwords in a secure way. You can put all your passwords in one database, which is locked with one master key or a key-disk. So you only have to remember one single master password or insert the key-disk to unlock the whole database. The databases are encrypted using the best and most secure encryption algorithms currently known (AES and Twofish)

VISIT		AudioActive MP3 Decoder - even though this wav-to-mp3 decoder has no batch decoding, it offers right-click Windows integration which is very useful when you need to decode an mp3 file into wave f-a-s-t. AudioActive also uses original Fraunhofer mp3 codec, offering highest sound quality possible. Also, the Audioactive MP3 player is available at the download page, with its superb sound quality. With a good audio card, AudioActive blows WinAmp away.

VISIT		1st Page 2000 - a full-featured, professional HTML editor. A must-have for anyone dealing with medium to large Web sites. This editor very much reminds of HomeSite, there is only one difference - it is free!

VISIT		TopStyle Lite - catch the new wave of web page design with this free and stylin' CSS-editing tool. There is a Pro version available, but the Lite version is more than enough to get started. What are Cascading Style Sheets? In short, they are a way of storing all font information of your web site in one single text document. No more FONT tags! There is much more that you can do, and if you are serious about web design, you will come to really appreciate the power of this feature. CSS knowledge is a must-have for design students who would like to stay ahead of the curve. So chew on it - it is not that hard and lots of fun.
